Nkechi Blessing Reflects on Her Growth Journey

Zoyols News

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has been looking back at how far she has come, pairing an old photograph with recent pictures of herself in a more luxurious setting, including images showing off dollars.

She wrote that the old shot brings her journey into focus. It is not Thursday, she noted, but the picture reminds her of where she started and where she stands now. All she sees is growth. Even so, she said she is still a work in progress, not yet where she believes she is meant to be, though she is far from where she used to be.

A day earlier, the actress, often called NBS, spoke about the pressure to fit into the Lagos big girls circle. She said that lifestyle has never drawn her in, describing herself as American broke and stressing that the scramble to belong is not for someone who values her privacy and her space.

Addressing fans, she said she knows who she is, an unstoppable child of God, and that enemies have tried without succeeding in stopping her grace. She hit back at trolls who single-shamed her, saying she would rather stay single than be broke, miserable and settle for less. She added that she is crying in first class on the way to a destination her haters can only dream of, and that their favourite stars are in her DMs.

In June she reached another milestone when she acquired a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLE53. Reflecting on her rise, she credited colleague Mercy Aigbe with helping make her a superstar, saying a film they did together opened that door and thanking Aigbe for seeing the star in her and letting her shine.

Last year she cried as she signed what she called a life-changing deal. She credited God for the breakthrough and said delay was not denial. She revealed she was meant to sign in February, but the devil did his thing as usual. In another post she said she is nothing without God as she took the biggest decision of her life.

Some time back she broke down in tears online over a woman’s attempts to damage her brand. She said she is human, blood runs in her veins, she does not have another means of livelihood, and she is not the type who sleeps with men to earn a living.

Two years ago she said she was bettering herself, that who she is becoming matters more than who she had been, and that she lives in her peaceful bubble around the clock, getting up, doing her work, getting her money and minding her business.

The actress also shocked many when she publicly apologised to people she had hurt. She said her controversial past cost her many deals, and that she now wants to live in peace.
