The National President of the Authentic Nigerian Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to fully support Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle as he continues his work with the national team.
Ogunjimi expressed strong belief that the Franco Malian tactician has what it takes to guide Nigeria to a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title. He pointed to what he described as steady progress since Chelle took charge of the three time African champions.
He praised the coach’s tactical awareness and leadership style, saying his early impact has already shown clear signs of promise on the international stage.
According to him, Chelle’s track record so far, including a third place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations and back to back Unity Cup wins in London with the Super Eagles, reflects his ability to build a competitive and disciplined squad.
Ogunjimi noted that the results are enough reason for the football authorities to give the coach full backing and allow him work under the right conditions.
He stressed that if Nigeria truly wants to return to the top level of African football, then the federation must provide Chelle with the support and resources needed to succeed.
He also urged Nigerians to remain patient with the process, adding that consistent support will be important as the coach continues shaping a team capable of competing for major honours both in Africa and on the global stage.
