An Ohio father has been charged with felony assault after he allegedly used his daughter’s TikTok account to lure the man accused of raping her back to their home before shooting him. The incident took place in Grove City, where 31-year-old Malik Chandler is accused of posing as his 11-year-old daughter to get 20-year-old Diego Montoya Gonzalez to return to the residence.
According to authorities, the situation began after the girl’s mother discovered a video on her daughter’s phone that appeared to show the sexual assault. That discovery prompted an investigation that eventually led to Chandler reaching out to Gonzalez through the social media platform. When Gonzalez arrived at the family home, Chandler allegedly shot him twice.
Gonzalez was taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for treatment of his injuries. He has since been indicted on charges including rape, possession of child sexual abuse material, and obstruction. He has pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
Chandler, meanwhile, remains in custody on a $100,000 bond following his arrest on the assault charge.
