Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, known as Omah Lay, recently shared his candid thoughts on his first Grammy nomination. While thrilled about the recognition, he made it clear that awards don’t define his passion for music. Reflecting on his collaborative hit “With You” with Davido, nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 68th Grammy Awards, Omah Lay expressed a heartfelt wish for Davido to win.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote with a mix of humor and sincerity, “I’m excited about this Grammy nomination haha but fr fr I don’t give a sh!t about awards. Yeah, but I really want it for OBO! He is the realest friend I’ve had in a while, he stood by me during my hardest times.”
Davido, affectionately called OBO, has received multiple Grammy nominations over the years but has yet to clinch a win. The 2026 Grammy Awards are set for February 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with global broadcasts on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
Omah Lay’s transparent and loyal response has resonated widely, reminding fans that music is about passion and connection, not just trophies.
