Zoyolsblog

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, marked his son Prince Tadenikawo’s fifth birthday with heartfelt words filled with pride and emotion. The monarch shared the moment on Instagram, celebrating the young prince he shares with his former wife, Naomi Silekunola.

In his message, the Ooni described the boy as a bright reminder of tomorrow and a living thread in the royal heritage. He spoke of how the prince’s laughter warms the palace and how his presence strengthens his faith in the greatness of the kingdom. The monarch offered prayers for the child, calling him a blessing, a legacy, and a clear sign of divine grace upon their lineage.

He wrote that his heart was full of gratitude as he watched his son grow and prayed that wisdom, guidance and favour continue to follow him. He affirmed that the prince’s path is blessed and that his future holds glory waiting to unfold.

Zoyols Blog also recalls that the Ooni and Naomi reunited in 2023 when the prince turned three. Photos from that moment showed them together at the palace celebrating their son. They were seen again during the opening of a project in Akure, Naomi’s hometown, where she attended with the prince alongside other royal wives. A clip from the event captured the monarch speaking briefly with Naomi while she held their son.

The former couple’s relationship ended in December 2022 when Naomi announced her departure from the palace after three years of marriage. She later shared that returning was not an option, noting the challenges she faced and how much had changed, especially with the monarch now having several wives. She explained that she entered the marriage young and gentle at heart but life had taught her differently.

Months later, the Ooni spoke about the period following the separation. He recalled being mocked by some who questioned the authority of a king without a queen. He said he turned to God for direction and was told to stay calm—adding that today, the palace is filled with queens.
