Galatasaray have confirmed that Victor Osimhen has successfully undergone surgery after sustaining a fracture to his right forearm.
The Nigerian striker picked up the injury during the club’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 second-leg clash against Liverpool at Anfield. The incident raised immediate concern, with early signs pointing to a significant spell on the sidelines.
According to a statement shared by Zoyols, the procedure was carried out by the club’s doctor, Yener Ince, at the Maslak Acibadem Hospital. The surgery went well, bringing some relief to both the club and supporters who had been anxiously awaiting an update on his condition.
Initial reports suggested Osimhen could be out for as long as six weeks following the injury. There were also claims that the recovery period might stretch to about a month and a half, depending on how well he responds after the operation.
Despite those early fears, there is growing optimism within the club. Galatasaray are hopeful that the forward could return in time for the highly anticipated Intercontinental Derby against fierce rivals Fenerbahçe on April 26, a fixture that could prove crucial in their season.
