Time to get down to business, folks! Bola Oyebamiji, the APC governorship candidate in Osun State, has a message for Governor Ademola Adeleke: it’s time to swap dance moves for hard work. Speaking at an endorsement rally for President Bola Tinubu in Osogbo, Oyebamiji emphasized that Osun State is heading towards economic uncertainty and needs a change of pace.
“At a time when our state is drifting dangerously toward economic uncertainty, administrative decline, and consistent inefficiency, we need to put aside our differences and work together to rescue and rebuild,” Oyebamiji said in Yoruba. He’s calling on all stakeholders to unite for the sake of the state’s future, emphasizing that the task ahead is bigger than individual ambitions.
Oyebamiji’s comments come as a tease to Adeleke, who’s known for dancing at public events, saying “Ijo too, …Ise yaaa” – enough of dance, time to work. APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, also weighed in, stating that Adeleke has shown a lack of capacity to transform the state despite having substantial funds at his disposal.
Basiru believes the governor’s days are numbered, especially with five National Assembly members recently joining the APC. “The governor hides behind his sister, but it’s time for him to go,” he said. The lawmakers who joined the party include Senator Francis Fadahunsi, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, and Hon. Oluwole Oke, among others.
