PRP Chair: APC Will Lose in 2027 if Elections Are Fair

Zoyols News

The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, believes that the ruling All Progressives Congress faces a precarious future. According to him, if the 2027 general elections are conducted with genuine transparency and fairness, the electorate will inevitably choose to end the current administration’s tenure.

Speaking during a recent interview on DITV and Alheri Radio in Kaduna, Baba-Ahmed shifted the focus away from traditional opposition tactics. He argued that the real threat to the ruling party is not other political organizations, but the Nigerian people themselves. He stressed that voters, not political maneuvers, hold the ultimate authority to dictate the nation’s leadership.

The PRP leader suggested that the governing party is well aware of its standing, noting that their primary anxiety stems from the possibility of a truly unhindered democratic process. He remarked that they fear the collective voice of the electorate because they understand that an authentic, free vote would likely result in their defeat.

Beyond predicting electoral outcomes, Baba-Ahmed issued a stern warning to opposition figures who might be rushing into premature alliances. He cautioned against movements built solely on the goal of displacing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu without offering a substantive alternative for governance. He raised concerns that some potential challengers might simply aim to replicate the current administration’s policies, leaving the country’s core problems untouched.

For the Peoples Redemption Party, support will not be handed out based on political convenience or raw ambition. Baba-Ahmed made it clear that any coalition seeking his party’s backing must first present a viable, detailed agenda to tackle the nation’s most pressing crises, including widespread poverty, food insecurity, and the ongoing struggle with violence.

As reported by Zoyols News, the party leadership is committed to a rigorous vetting process for any political alignments forming ahead of 2027. Baba-Ahmed emphasized that they intend to look past the rhetoric to distinguish between those driven by opportunistic personal goals and those who possess a genuine, workable strategy to heal the country. He maintained that his party is well-equipped to spot deception, ensuring they only align with those whose intentions are truly aligned with the needs of the average citizen.
