QORAY Unveils Founding Executive Leadership Team

Zoyols News

QORAY Mobility and Energies Ltd has formally unveiled its founding executive leadership team, spotlighting the group behind some of Nigeria’s most ambitious clean energy and sustainable mobility projects.

The company, which operates across Nigeria’s clean energy and transport space, said its leadership team has collectively driven the deployment of more than 2,150 electric vehicles, over 7MWh of decentralised solar systems and more than ₦20 billion in clean energy assets across the country.

At the helm of the company is Founder and Chief Executive Officer Olabanjo Alimi, working alongside Co Founders Akinkunmi Akingbogun, Vice President for Mobility, and Ayo Falola, Vice President for Renewable Energy.

Speaking on the company’s direction, Alimi said QORAY was established to accelerate Africa’s transition to clean energy and sustainable mobility through innovation, partnerships and community focused solutions. According to him, the company is driven by a vision to power progress in a way that is both inclusive and sustainable.

QORAY said its story is rooted in the experience of executives who spent years helping to shape Nigeria’s clean energy and mobility ecosystem from within the financial sector before deciding to build a platform of their own. It noted that the founding team brings not only technical and commercial expertise, but also a strong belief that Africa’s clean energy future should be designed by Africans, built around African communities and scaled by homegrown businesses.

The company said that conviction is now backed by operational results and a growing footprint across the country.

As founder and chief executive officer, Alimi leads the business at the intersection of energy, mobility and finance. Under his leadership, the company said it has recorded major milestones in electric vehicle deployment, solar energy installation and capital mobilisation for clean energy projects.

Before launching QORAY, Alimi served as Divisional Head of Renewable Energy and Mobility at Sterling Bank. He also held senior roles as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director at Eterna Plc, while his earlier career included leadership positions at Enyo Retail and Supply and Oando Marketing, now NNPC Retail, where he managed portfolios valued at more than 400 million dollars.

QORAY said his career has consistently been shaped by projects and partnerships aimed at improving energy access, advancing sustainable mobility and creating wider economic inclusion, the same values that now define the company’s mission.

Akinkunmi Akingbogun, who serves as Vice President for Mobility, is described by the company as an experienced engineer, business leader and clean mobility executive with more than 20 years of experience across engineering, energy, banking and leadership development.

He holds academic qualifications in Civil Engineering, Water and Environmental Engineering, and Business Marketing, and has also completed the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School. He is a COREN certified engineer and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Before co founding QORAY, Akingbogun held leadership positions at OVH Energy and Sterling Bank, where he served as Group Head of Mobility and Projects in Renewable Energy, leading strategic initiatives in transport infrastructure and sustainable mobility.

At QORAY, the company said he has played a central role in expanding electric mobility through partnerships, product deployment and ecosystem development. Under his leadership, the company’s flagship Electric Teak tricycle set a Guinness World Record after covering 347.11 kilometres in 12 hours, while deployment of electric tricycles has continued to grow across Nigeria.

A certified business leadership and performance coach, Akingbogun is credited with bringing together technical depth, commercial insight and transformational leadership in driving innovation within Nigeria’s mobility sector.

According to him, QORAY’s goal is to create mobility solutions that change how Africa moves by making transport cleaner, more efficient and more affordable.

The company’s Renewable Energy Division is led by Ayo Falola, a business development and sustainability professional with more than 14 years of experience across banking, logistics, energy and renewable sectors.

QORAY said Falola oversees energy financing, decentralised energy deployment and strategic partnerships aimed at expanding clean power access for businesses and communities across Africa. It added that he is recognised for combining financial performance with sustainability goals by developing market driven solutions that deliver both commercial value and social impact.

The company said he has led the deployment of more than 7MWh of distributed solar systems across Nigeria, with particular attention to small businesses and underserved communities.

Falola said QORAY is demonstrating that sustainability and profitability can work side by side, adding that the company sees innovation and impact as inseparable parts of long term progress.

Headquartered in Lagos, QORAY said it is building its operations around electric vehicle manufacturing and trading, renewable energy systems, and logistics and mobility solutions, all in pursuit of its ambition to become one of Africa’s most transformative companies.

Among its major milestones, the company listed the deployment of more than 2,150 locally assembled electric vehicles across Nigeria, the installation of over 7MWh of decentralised solar systems and the mobilisation of more than ₦20 billion in clean energy and mobility assets.

It also highlighted the development of what it described as Nigeria’s largest network of EV charging and battery swap stations, as well as the launch of the country’s first publicly accessible EV charging station.

QORAY further noted that more than 100 local technicians have been trained through its Green Upskill programme, while Cabzero, which it described as Nigeria’s first all electric B2B leasing and ride hailing platform, has scaled to over 100 electric vehicles.

The company added that its clean mobility interventions have so far helped to reduce carbon emissions by more than 180.8 metric tonnes.

On partnerships, QORAY said it is working with institutions including Sterling Bank, The Alternative Bank and the Development Bank of Nigeria, alongside technology partners and government agencies, to expand access to clean mobility and renewable energy across the continent.

According to the company, these collaborations are not only deepening energy access and sustainable transport, but are also creating new opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs and local communities.
