Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will lead governors, their spouses and other top officials to Ogun State on Tuesday for the zonal launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme. The event will feature the distribution of food items to vulnerable and indigent residents across the state.
The programme kicks off in Makun, Sagamu, and is part of wider federal efforts to strengthen social intervention schemes and ease hardships faced by low-income households.
Besides the food distribution, Senator Tinubu will commission two key projects. She is expected to inaugurate the 108-unit Muhammadu Buhari Estate in Kobape, Abeokuta, as well as the Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence, a new 250-bed hospital in Abeokuta designed to offer advanced healthcare services to residents of Ogun and neighbouring communities.
She will also meet major stakeholders at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta, as part of her schedule.
The visit is meant to deepen cooperation between the federal government and Ogun State on social welfare, housing and healthcare delivery.
