Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S26 FE in Kenya, adding a new option to its premium smartphone lineup for consumers who want high end features without paying the price of the company’s top flagship models.
The smartphone will be available across selected retail and partner stores in Kenya from September 4. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version carries a price tag of KES 103,100 and comes in Blueberry, Pistachio and Graphite.
Samsung is placing much of its focus on the phone’s display, cameras, artificial intelligence features and long term software support as competition in the premium smartphone market continues to grow.
The Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, designed to provide smoother scrolling and a more responsive viewing experience.
Powering the device is a 4,900mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging. Samsung says the phone can reach about 69 percent charge in roughly 30 minutes when used with a compatible adapter.
The company is also offering an unusually long software support period for the device, promising up to seven generations of operating system upgrades alongside seven years of security updates. The phone carries an IP68 rating, giving it protection against dust and water.
Photography is another major part of the Galaxy S26 FE experience. Its rear camera setup consists of a 50 megapixel main camera, a 12 megapixel ultra wide camera and an 8 megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
For users who record videos regularly, Samsung has included features aimed at making mobile content creation easier. My FanCam can automatically keep subjects centred while recording, while Super Steady with Horizontal Lock is designed to keep footage stable even when the user is moving.
Artificial intelligence also plays a central role in the phone’s software. Photo Assist allows users to edit images through natural language prompts, while Gemini Omni can help transform photos and other content from the gallery into video clips.
The smartphone runs on Samsung’s One UI 9, which includes context aware AI features designed to make it easier for users to interact with content and complete everyday tasks.
Samsung has also improved Smart Switch, allowing users to transfer their data wirelessly from both Android and iOS devices. The feature is aimed at making the move to the Galaxy ecosystem less complicated for new users.
Kenyan buyers will also receive additional benefits, including Samsung Care+ protection and a six month trial of Google AI Pro. The package provides access to additional cloud storage and advanced productivity features.
The launch comes at a time when smartphone competition is shifting beyond traditional hardware specifications. Manufacturers are increasingly using artificial intelligence, longer software support and connected services to differentiate their devices.
With its seven year software and security commitment, the Galaxy S26 FE is designed to remain supported for considerably longer than the usual smartphone replacement cycle.
The new model also allows Samsung to bring several features previously associated with its more expensive flagship smartphones to a lower price range.
At KES 103,100, the Galaxy S26 FE remains positioned above Kenya’s mass market smartphone segment but offers an alternative for buyers who want premium features without stepping up to Samsung’s most expensive flagship models.
