Former presidential candidate Barrister Robinson Chukwunonso Akpua has announced his defection to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), citing his admiration for Governor Charles Soludo’s remarkable achievements in less than three years in office.
Akpua, who contested the 2019 presidential election under the National Democratic Liberation Party (NDLP), said his decision followed careful consideration and consultations with various political groups. According to him, although several parties had approached him to join their ranks, he was convinced that APGA, under Soludo’s leadership, remains the most credible platform for progressive governance and sustainable development.
He explained that his move was inspired by the governor’s visible transformation agenda, which has brought notable improvements to Anambra State across sectors such as infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment.
Akpua also appealed to the people of Njikoka Local Government Area and the entire state to rally behind Soludo in the upcoming November 8 governorship election. He urged residents to come out en masse to support the governor’s re-election, stressing that continuity of the “Solution” administration would ensure that Anambra’s growth and stability are sustained.
Zoyols Blog gathered that Akpua’s defection has been widely praised by party members and political observers, who described it as a major boost for APGA ahead of the polls.
