Stars React in Shock to Jos Tragedy

zoyolsnews

The recent killings in Jos have left many in shock, with Nollywood stars taking to social media to voice their grief and concern. On Palm Sunday, reports emerged that gunmen opened fire on a community in Angwa Rukuba, leaving devastation in their wake.

Stella Damasus shared her heartbreak, questioning how parents can protect their children in a climate of violence. “My heart breaks. I know words aren’t enough, but I honestly don’t know where to start. How do we keep our children and ourselves safe? This concerns all of us as Nigerians,” she wrote.

Celebrity stylist Toyin Lawani reflected on the beauty of Jos and the pain of seeing it marred by violence. “Palm Sunday, a day meant for joy, turned into sorrow for so many families. Unprovoked attacks continue, driven by political agendas. God, it’s all in Your hands. When will this stop? I pray for strength for every family affected. Nigeria needs help,” she lamented.

Chidi Mokeme extended his prayers to multiple regions affected by ongoing violence, from Jos to Benue, Kwara, Niger, Zamfara, Borno, and Southern Kaduna. “Stay strong. The government has failed yet again, but hold on. Resist. Raise your voice until a new dawn comes. May the souls of the departed rest in peace,” he said.

Kunle Afod, reflecting on his own connection to Jos, shared his sorrow. “We have prayed, sought, begged, yet the violence continues. I schooled in Jos. Palm Sunday, and once again, tragedy strikes. We stand and pray for Jos.”

Social media activist Very Dark Man highlighted the harsh reality of living in Nigeria today, saying that anyone could be the next victim and urged citizens to take their safety into their own hands rather than rely on the government.

Bolanle Ninalowo emphasized his role as a voice for the people, not for political leaders. “I can’t stay silent while my people suffer. I hope for change, not support from any government, and I won’t watch in silence as lives are lost.”

Kunle Remi shared a video capturing the horror of the attacks, calling it his “real birthday message” to President Tinubu. He expressed hope that leaders will one day feel the weight of the people’s pain and respond to the suffering across the nation.

The Jos tragedy has become a somber reminder of the fragility of life in many parts of Nigeria, sparking widespread reflection and a call for meaningful action from citizens and leaders alike
