Toyin Abraham reacts after Funke Akindele snub, unfollows her

zoyolsnews

Toyin Abraham has finally spoken up after the awkward moment that played out between her and Funke Akindele at a recent movie premiere.

The incident happened on Sunday during Iyabo Ojo’s event, where several Nollywood stars gathered. In a video that quickly made the rounds, Toyin was seen approaching Funke, who was seated alongside Iyabo Ojo and Mercy Aigbe, to greet them. While others acknowledged her, Funke appeared to ignore the greeting, leaving many viewers stunned and sparking conversations online.

Reacting to the moment, Toyin didn’t hold back. She made it clear she was hurt by the snub and insisted she would not be extending greetings to Funke again. She also confirmed that she has unfollowed her colleague, stressing that she has no intention of repeating what she described as a disrespectful experience.

What makes the situation more surprising is how things seemed to have improved between both actresses in recent times. Not too long ago, they were seen sharing friendly moments at public events. At Toke Makinwa’s daughter’s dedication last year, Toyin was spotted kneeling to greet Funke, who warmly acknowledged her. They were also seen together at another movie premiere, exchanging pleasantries and even dancing, which gave the impression that their long-standing differences had been settled.

For years, both actresses have been seen as rivals, largely due to their dominance in the industry and their strong presence at the box office. Despite this, they appeared to have moved past the tension, celebrating each other’s wins publicly. Toyin once praised Funke for her cinema success, including her record-breaking milestone, and Funke responded with goodwill.

There were still moments that hinted at quiet competition, especially when both announced similar movie projects around the same time. Toyin’s reveal of a sequel to her Alakada franchise came shortly after Funke shared plans for a continuation of her Jenifa series, a move that stirred mixed reactions among fans.

Not long after, Toyin shared a reflective message about growth and learning from mistakes, which many believed was directed at ongoing tensions in her circle.

With this latest development, it’s clear that whatever peace existed between the two may have taken a hit again, leaving fans watching closely to see how things unfold next.
