The atmosphere was thick with emotion at the naming ceremony of Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya’s daughter, as her husband, Bola Oyinadejobi, shared a deeply moving testimony about their long road to parenthood. Speaking to a gathering of family and colleagues on Saturday, the new father emphasized that medical reports do not always have the final say when divine intervention is at play.
He revealed to the guests that they had been met with devastating news from medical experts who claimed they would never be able to conceive again. According to him, there were moments when the weight of those words almost led them to accept defeat. However, he noted that the intervention of others, specifically mentioning actress Biola Bayo, played a pivotal role in changing their narrative. The journey was fraught with physical and emotional pain, as Toyosi reportedly underwent four different surgeries, nearly losing her life during the final procedure.
Details made available to Zoyols News indicate that the couple welcomed their baby girl through surrogacy, a milestone that comes after nearly two decades of struggling with infertility. Toyosi herself had previously recounted the harrowing details of her journey which began in 2008. She spoke of undergoing laparoscopies, dye tests, and multiple failed IVF attempts. At one point, she had to sell her gold jewelry and empty the earnings from her boutique just to fund the treatments, only to face disappointment time and again.
The news of the arrival has sparked a wave of celebration within the Nigerian film industry. Several veteran actors and colleagues have visited the couple’s home to offer their support and gifts. Peju Ogunmola was seen sharing a tender moment as she cradled the newborn, while Odunlade Adekola brought a sense of joy and laughter to the household during his visit. Other notable figures such as Antar Laniyan, Bimbo Oshin, and Folorunsho Adeola also stopped by to congratulate the new mother.
Financial support has also poured in for the newborn, with Toyosi revealing that actor Muyiwa Ademola made a generous contribution of N200,000 as the first deposit into the baby’s new account. During a visit from Fausat Balogun, an emotional Toyosi confessed that they were actually struggling financially on the very day the baby arrived. She expressed immense gratitude to those who stood by her with prayers and resources when things seemed most uncertain. Through tears of joy, the actress thanked her husband for his unwavering loyalty, noting that his support was the pillar that kept her going through the darkest years of their wait.
