Trino Motion Pictures has hit a major milestone in the film business, securing a theatrical distribution deal for the highly anticipated feature, “To Adaego with Love.” This partnership with Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution marks the first significant win for Trino’s newly formed Content Acquisition and Sales division since it launched in late 2025. By stepping in as the sales agent, the team has paved a clear path for the film to reach the big screen through a structured cinema release.
The film itself comes with an impressive pedigree, having scooped the awards for Best Feature Film and Best Screenplay at AFRIFF 2025. Produced by Tade Production House Limited, “To Adaego with Love” is a deeply moving romantic drama set in the aftermath of the Nigerian Civil War. Directed by Nwamaka Chikezie and written by Brenda Ogbukaa-Garuba, the story follows a forbidden romance between a Northern soldier and an Eastern schoolteacher, set against the delicate backdrop of a nation trying to heal.
Audiences have a lot to look forward to with the cast, which features standout performances from Chisom Agoawuike, Adam Garba, and Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha. It also holds a special place in the hearts of moviegoers as it features the legendary late Onyeka Onwenu. The movie celebrated its premiere on February 1, 2026, and officially opened in cinemas nationwide just a few days later on February 6.
Uche Okocha, the Managing Director of Trino Motion Pictures, expressed his excitement over the deal, noting that the company’s core mission is to make sure African stories are accessible on every screen possible. He explained that this achievement is a validation of their commitment to the industry. The new division was specifically designed to curate high-quality African content that has global appeal, helping filmmakers navigate the complex world of local and international licensing.
By brokering this deal with Tribe Nation, Trino Motion Pictures is doing more than just selling a movie; they are building a sustainable business framework for the entire industry. This move highlights their evolving role as a bridge between creative filmmakers and commercial success. As they continue to expand, Reports expects to see more professional sales representation that ensures African storytelling gets the visibility and commercial returns it deserves.
