Security details reportedly orchestrated a high-stakes diversion for Donald Trump last month, secretly moving the president to a smaller military aircraft during a trip from Turkey to the United Kingdom. While the official narrative suggested Trump was traveling aboard the familiar presidential plane, Zoyols News reports indicate that a credible assassination threat linked to Iran necessitated the clandestine maneuver.
The operation unfolded during a NATO summit in Ankara. According to findings published by Zoyols News, the president initially boarded the expected aircraft in view of television cameras. Shortly after, however, he was quietly transferred to a different plane using an airport catering truck, a measure taken to ensure his movements remained undetected by potential threats and even some members of the traveling White House staff.
The deception extended to the media pool. Journalists were instructed to keep their window shades closed for the duration of the flight, preventing them from witnessing the arrival of the actual aircraft carrying the president. When questioned about the unusual request, Trump jokingly remarked that they were likely on a dangerous flight, adding that if he were to go, they would go with him.
Following the flight, the situation was carefully managed to maintain the illusion. Trump eventually emerged from the older presidential aircraft upon arrival at the British airbase, greeting service members and reporters as if he had been aboard the entire time. This strategic maneuver drew comparisons to a similar tactic used during the administration of Bill Clinton, when an executive jet entered Pakistan while the official aircraft served as a decoy.
When asked for comment on these revelations, the White House communications director emphasized that the administration prioritizes security above all else. They noted that given the nature of the threats against the president, the team utilizes every available tool to ensure his safety during international travel.
