Uche Ogbodo Confirms Split From Husband Bobby Maris

Zoyols News

Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has confirmed that her marriage to Bobby Maris has come to an end, putting to rest the speculation that trailed their relationship in recent days.

The breakup rumours had gathered momentum after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram, a move that quickly stirred reactions online. The situation drew even more attention when Ogbodo, Maris and the actress’ younger sister shared cryptic posts on their Instagram Stories, leaving many social media users convinced that all was not well in the marriage.

Breaking her silence on Tuesday evening, Ogbodo appeared to confirm the split in a strongly worded post shared on her Instagram Story. In the post, the actress questioned why a woman choosing to walk away from a marriage is often treated as though she has committed an offence.

She expressed frustration over the public reaction to her decision, saying people seem more willing to accept a man getting tired of marriage than a woman reaching her limit. Ogbodo said she was exhausted and made it clear that she could no longer continue in the union.

She also took a swipe at her husband, referring to him as a “princess,” while lamenting the emotional weight she had carried in the relationship.

“For person to tire for marriage now na taboo because na woman? Must it always be man wey go tire? My own don tire. I’m tired of the princess wey dey marry me. Wetin wrong with that? To be happy as a woman in marriage is by connection in this country.

“I no do again na sin? Make nobody push me to the wall because I be rubber. Eight years of my life no be enough? Maybe I should give it 20 years or maybe wait till I enter six feet under before the crown of thorns go fit me well,” she wrote.
