US–Israel Intel Role in Operation Against Ali Khamenei

Tensions in the Middle East reached a dramatic peak after intelligence from Central Intelligence Agency reportedly helped shape a joint military operation between the United States and Israel targeting Iranian leadership. Zoyols reported that intelligence suggested Ali Khamenei would attend a high-level meeting with senior officials inside a leadership compound located in the heart of Tehran. The information reportedly guided strategic decisions behind the strikes, which ultimately led to his death, according to Iranian state media.

Sources familiar with the operation said the intelligence agency had been monitoring Khamenei’s movements for months. They later discovered that top Iranian officials were scheduled to gather early Saturday morning inside the compound. Initially, Washington and Tel Aviv were planning to launch nighttime strikes, but the timeline changed after reviewing the intelligence details. The United States then shared the information with Israeli military planners, who prepared to carry out the attack on Iranian leadership structures.

The operation reportedly began around 6:00 in the morning in Israel, with long-range missiles hitting the compound several hours later. Reports indicated that senior Iranian national security figures were gathered in one building, while Khamenei was located in another nearby structure. Alongside the supreme leader, two senior Iranian military and security officials were also killed, including Revolutionary Guards chief Mohammad Pakpour and security adviser Ali Shamkhani, according to Iranian judiciary statements.

Following the strike, Iran reportedly responded with retaliatory attacks across parts of the Gulf region, including areas close to U.S. military installations and in locations near Abu Dhabi. The situation has raised concerns about wider regional escalation. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump was quoted saying that American military operations would continue for as long as deemed necessary, signaling a firm stance as global attention remains fixed on the unfolding crisis.
