Zoyols Blog

In a significant move to bolster the safety of its citizens, the Zamfara State Government has launched a comprehensive project to breathe new life into the aging fleet of various security agencies operating within the state. The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure is currently spearheading the rehabilitation of numerous grounded patrol vehicles to ensure that security personnel are better equipped for their daily operations.

According to a statement released in Gusau by the ministry’s spokesperson, Jamilu Bello, the initiative is a key part of Governor Dauda Lawal’s broader strategy to restore peace and stability to the region. By focusing on repairing and perfectly restoring vehicles that were previously non-functional, the state is demonstrating a practical approach to asset management while providing much-needed technical support to the men and women on the front lines.

Details gathered by Reports indicate that once the refurbishment process is fully completed, Governor Lawal will officially hand over the revitalized fleet to the benefiting agencies. Among those set to receive the vehicles is the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), alongside other essential security outfits. The goal is to significantly improve mobility and ensure that response times to security alerts across the state are as swift as possible.

The ministry emphasized that this exercise is about more than just fixing cars; it is a reflection of the administration’s commitment to its constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property. By maintaining existing equipment and investing in infrastructure, the government aims to create an environment where security agencies can carry out their duties with maximum efficiency.

As the state continues to face various security challenges, this logistics boost is expected to provide a much-needed edge for patrols and surveillance. The government has reaffirmed its resolve to remain a steady partner to security forces, ensuring they have the tools required to keep Zamfara safe.
