2027 Polls: Lagos APC Women Target 1m Votes for Tinubu, Hamzat

Zoyols News

The women’s wing of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State says it is targeting at least one million votes from women for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, in the 2027 elections.

The state APC Woman Leader, Mrs Iyabosola Eletu, disclosed this in Lagos, saying the party had intensified its grassroots mobilisation across the state ahead of the polls.

Eletu said she had been engaging women leaders at different levels to strengthen support for the party’s candidates and ensure that the mobilisation effort reaches communities across Lagos.

She said the campaign was not being restricted to the major urban centres, noting that she had already visited more than five riverine communities around the Ojo and Badagry axis to seek support for Tinubu and Hamzat.

According to her, the mobilisation will be extended to other riverine communities as the party continues to reach voters in different parts of the state.

Eletu also pointed to what she described as some of the achievements of the Tinubu administration, saying such policies would be taken to the grassroots as part of the party’s campaign efforts.

She cited financial autonomy for local governments, increased federal allocations to states and salary adjustments for civil servants among the issues she said would be explained to voters.

The APC leader added that the Federal Government was also making efforts to address outstanding debts in the education and power sectors, describing these as matters with direct implications for Nigerians.

On Hamzat, Eletu said the deputy governor’s experience in Lagos politics and administration would be an advantage if he gets the opportunity to lead the state.

She noted that Hamzat had served Lagos at different levels and was familiar with the state’s challenges and opportunities.

“Hamzat understands the workings of Lagos because he has served the state at different levels. He knows the challenges and opportunities, and that experience gives him an advantage,” she said.
