Access Bank and Visa Launch New Card to Ease Business Cash Flow

Zoyols Blog

Access Bank has teamed up with global payments giant Visa to introduce a new Corporate Credit Card, a move specifically designed to help medium and large-scale businesses in Nigeria get a better handle on their finances. This partnership isn’t just about a new card; it’s about changing the way local corporations manage their daily spending and cash flow through a mix of short-term credit and high-tech tracking tools.

As businesses across the country look for more efficient ways to stay liquid and transparent, this new solution offers a significant edge. One of its standout features is an interest-free window of up to 45 days. This allows Chief Financial Officers and treasurers to pay off suppliers ahead of time without immediately dipping into their cash reserves, essentially buying them more time to manage their capital for growth and other strategic moves.

Florence Owuor, the Head of Cards Business at Access Bank, noted during the rollout that the initiative is a direct response to the needs of their corporate clients. She explained that the card is built for efficiency, helping finance teams save time while keeping a closer eye on where every kobo goes. With the integration of the Visa Spend Clarity platform, companies can now monitor their expenses in real-time through a simple mobile app or web portal.

Andrew Uaboi, Vice President and Cluster Head for West Africa at Visa, emphasized that this project is part of a larger mission to bring more businesses into the digital economy. He pointed out that by providing data-driven tools, they are helping organizations make more informed financial decisions while ensuring accountability across the board. The launch marks a major step forward for Nigerian enterprises looking to modernize their financial operations and maintain a competitive edge in a digital world.
