Zoyols News

Access Holdings has vested more than 200 million shares in 77 employees across the Group, with former Executive Director of Business Support, Bolaji Agbede, receiving the largest allocation under the employee share programme.

The development was disclosed in a corporate filing dated July 8, 2026, submitted to the Nigerian Exchange. The document was signed by the Company’s Secretary, Sunday Ekwochi.

According to the filing, the share vesting exercise was carried out between June 29 and June 30, 2026, covering employees within Access Holdings and several of its subsidiaries, including Access Bank Plc.

The company said the initiative was designed to reward employees for their contributions to the Group’s growth and strategic achievements while strengthening its long term employee ownership programmed.

Agbede emerged as the biggest beneficiary after receiving 15,092,922 shares.

Executive Director Hadiza Ambursa and the Chief Financial Officer of Access Bank, Seyi Kumapayi, each received 10,906,875 shares. Executive Director for Corporate and Investment Banking, Iyabo Soji Okusanya, was allotted 10,119,941 shares.

Executive Director Lanre Bamisebi received 9,334,823 shares, while Executive Director Elizabeth Oguegbu and Access Bank’s Chief Risk Officer, Femi Jaiyeola, were each allocated 4,651,163 shares.

The programme also extended to several senior executives and management staff across the Group, including Olumide Olatunji, Abraham Aziegbe, Sunday Ekwochi, Amaechi Okobi and many other senior managers.

Access Holdings noted that the broad allocation reflects its commitment to expanding employee ownership while ensuring that the interests of management remain closely aligned with the company’s long term goals and shareholder value.

The use of equity based rewards has continued to gain popularity across the financial services sector as institutions compete to attract and retain experienced professionals amid rapid digital innovation, growing fintech collaborations and expansion into new markets.

By giving employees a direct ownership stake in the business, Access Holdings believes the initiative will encourage greater accountability, strengthen commitment to the company’s objectives and support its long term growth plans across Africa and other international markets.
