A former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, has officially thrown her weight behind the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu, while also endorsing Dr. Obafemi Hamzat for the Lagos State governorship in 2027. Her remarks, which were captured in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday, serve as a rallying cry for party members and the general public to maintain their support for the All Progressives Congress.

Regarding the national leadership, Orelope-Adefulire praised the President for his commitment to bold reforms, noting that the current administration has already established a robust foundation for long-term national development. She argued that these efforts are essential for repositioning the country toward sustainable growth and stability.

Turning her focus to the state level, she painted Dr. Obafemi Hamzat as a uniquely qualified candidate, citing his extensive experience and proven track record of loyalty within the government. She believes that his history as a seasoned administrator makes him the most capable person to consolidate the achievements of past administrations and lead Lagos into its next phase of progress.

Orelope-Adefulire emphasized that the party’s greatest asset lies in its ability to remain unified. She urged stakeholders and supporters to stay focused on their shared vision, insisting that a united front is the key to securing victory in the upcoming elections.

Beyond the internal party dynamics, she stressed the importance of civic responsibility, calling on all eligible citizens to ensure they possess their Permanent Voter Cards. In her view, active participation is the cornerstone of a healthy democracy. Expressing optimism for the future, she voiced her firm belief that both the President and the governorship candidate possess the leadership qualities necessary to build a more prosperous nation and a better Lagos.
