Anthony Joshua Silences Jake Paul with Sixth-Round KO in Miami

Anthony Joshua proved today that there are levels to the game of boxing, delivering a dominant performance to stop Jake Paul in the sixth round of their heavyweight clash at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The British-Nigerian superstar, who hails from Sagamu, controlled the narrative from the opening bell, showing the world that despite the hype surrounding his opponent, experience remains the ultimate equalizer.

From the start, it was clear that the bout was a mismatch. While the 28-year-old Paul attempted to use movement and frequent clinching to stay out of danger, Joshua remained patient, stalking him across the ring. Joshua utilized a stiff jab and punishing body shots to break Paul down. By the second round, the former two-time world champion was in complete control, dictating the pace and looking for the perfect opening to end the night.

The pressure reached a breaking point in the fifth round. Joshua’s relentless pursuit paid off as he sent Paul to the canvas twice. A sharp body shot caused the first knockdown, and before Paul could fully recover, Joshua unleashed a flurry of strikes that left the YouTuber-turned-boxer visibly exhausted and struggling to stay upright. Joshua’s precision was on full display throughout the fight, landing 48 punches compared to Paul’s 16.

The end finally came in the sixth round. Joshua continued to land heavy blows, dropping his opponent multiple times. After one final, clean shot, Paul failed to beat the referee’s count, giving Joshua his 26th knockout in 29 professional victories. This win is particularly significant for Joshua as it marks his first successful outing on American soil since his unexpected loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. years ago.

Following the fight, Joshua didn’t waste any time looking toward the future. Describing the bout as a necessary step to shake off “the cobwebs,” he immediately turned his attention to a potential mega-fight in 2026. Joshua issued a direct challenge to fellow Brit Tyson Fury, urging him to stop the social media antics and step into the ring for a real showdown.

Joshua made his intentions clear, stating that if Fury is truly serious about his legacy, he should prepare to face “one of the realest fighters out there.” With this victory, Joshua has not only silenced the critics for now but has also set the stage for what could be the biggest heavyweight clash of the coming year.
