The APC has dismissed claims of a rift between its governors and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, describing the reported dispute as a “false battle.”
Speaking on Arise Television on Tuesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the governors and Wike shared a common goal: securing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. His comments followed Wike’s appointment to the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
Morka said the Progressive Governors Forum represents APC governors, while Wike, a former Rivers State governor, serves in Tinubu’s cabinet and has publicly backed the President.
He added that the campaign council’s membership had clarified the roles of those involved, noting that some governors from other parties would coordinate activities in their states.
Morka described the arrangement as an effort to bring politicians from different parties together around a shared agenda, saying Tinubu was seeking to move beyond party divisions in pursuit of his administration’s goals and re-election campaign.
