Nigerian students looking to carve out a future in the fast-moving world of information technology now have a more accessible path forward. Through a new initiative by the training institution Aptech, aspiring tech professionals can significantly reduce the costs of pursuing advanced studies in fields like data analytics, software engineering, cloud computing, and animation.
The program offers a major incentive for those eyeing international education. Holders of an Aptech Advanced Diploma are now eligible for direct entry into the final year of select Bachelor’s degree programs at Middlesex University London. This includes specialized pathways in areas such as business computing, data analytics, and 3D animation for both gaming and film.
Gathered that this scholarship drive is part of the 18th edition of the Career Quest program. The initiative is specifically designed to tackle the growing technology skills gap in Nigeria, ensuring that young talent can keep pace with the demands of an expanding digital economy.
The annual seminar is scheduled to take place in early August, with physical sessions hosted across several major cities, including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Enugu, Calabar, Abeokuta, and Ota. Students who cannot attend in person will also have the option to join virtually. understands that participants at the physical events will be entered into a lucky draw for scholarships covering up to 50 percent of their tuition for eligible UK degree programs.
Executive Vice-President of International Business at Aptech Limited, Kallol Mukherjee, emphasized that the goal is to equip young Nigerians with a globally competitive edge. He noted that by bridging ambition with opportunity, they hope to help students make informed decisions that prepare them for long-term success.
This effort builds on a long history of support for local students. Aptech reported that during the last edition of Career Quest, over N621 million in scholarships were awarded. Over the past two decades, more than 1,200 Nigerians have utilized the institution’s international degree pathways to study abroad. With 25 years of operations and over 70 training centers across the country, the organizers intend for this year’s seminars to provide more than just financial aid; they will also offer career counseling and direct insights from industry experts.
