Nollywood actress Blessing Obasi has expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support and positive feedback she has received for her role in the newly released movie, Blood Sisters 2.
Sharing her excitement on Instagram, the actress admitted she was touched by the outpouring of love and encouragement from fans, colleagues and well wishers. She described the experience of seeing people gather to celebrate both the project and her growth as an actress as truly memorable.
According to Blessing, the support shown during the Blood Sisters watch party in Lagos left a lasting impression on her. She appreciated everyone who attended, watched the film, shared their reactions and joined her in celebrating the moment.
The actress also extended her gratitude to media entrepreneur Mo Abudu and the entire production team behind Blood Sisters 2 for giving her the opportunity to be part of the project. She described it as a privilege to portray her character, Mimi, and said she felt honoured to have her work recognised by viewers.
Blessing noted that the reviews, messages and conversations that followed the release of the movie have been both encouraging and humbling. She thanked those who have continued to support her career and expressed optimism about taking on more inspiring stories in the future.
Her performance in the film has drawn praise from both fans and colleagues within the entertainment industry. Actress Bimbo Ademoye recently spoke highly of Blessing after working with her for the first time, describing her as an exceptional talent who left a strong impression despite having limited screen time.
Veteran actress Mercy Johnson also commended Blessing’s acting ability, praising the depth and strength she brought to her role and revealing how impressed she was by her performance.
Away from her acting career, Blessing has previously spoken openly about societal expectations surrounding marriage. Reflecting on her own journey, she explained that marrying later in life was not simply a personal decision but also a way of breaking free from pressures that often place a woman’s value on her marital status.
She revealed that such expectations can weigh heavily on many women, adding that society frequently judges women based on whether they are married rather than their achievements and personal happiness.
This is not the first time she has addressed the topic. In an earlier interview, Blessing stated that age should never be a barrier when it comes to love. She disclosed that she once believed relationships within the entertainment industry were unlikely to succeed because of concerns about infidelity. However, her husband proved her assumptions wrong.
Blessing Obasi is married to fellow Nollywood actor Stan Nze. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, in 2023 and have continued to enjoy a happy family life while pursuing successful careers in the film industry.
