Popular comedian and content creator Samuel Perry, widely known to millions as Broda Shaggi, is reportedly receiving medical attention following a shooting incident in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State. The incident, which occurred on Sunday afternoon beneath the Sango-Ota bridge, has left fans and colleagues concerned as details regarding the exact circumstances remain thin.
The incident took place while the entertainer was on location filming a new comedy skit. A police source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, revealed that Shaggi sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh during the production. His crew members acted swiftly, rushing him to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos for emergency first aid.
As his condition required more specialized care, he was later transferred to Duchess Hospital in the Ikeja GRA, where he is currently said to be recuperating. While the entertainer is stable, the mystery of how a weapon was discharged during a comedy shoot is still being piece together by those close to the production.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed they were alerted to the situation by hospital staff. Command spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi stated that detectives were dispatched to the facility, where they found the influencer on a stretcher receiving treatment for his injury. She noted that while the victim was brought into Lagos for care, the actual event took place in the Sango-Ota area, which falls under a different jurisdiction.
Interestingly, there appears to be a gap in official documentation between states. When reached for comment, Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, indicated that the command had not yet received a formal report of the shooting. As the investigation continues, many in the creative industry are calling for stricter safety measures during outdoor film sets to prevent such near-fatal occurrences.
