Eric Chelle has appointed Bright Osehai Ozebagbe and Deniran Ortega as assistant coaches for Nigeria’s Olympic football team ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
The Super Eagles head coach described the pair as among the country’s most promising young coaches, pointing to their impressive records as the main reason for their inclusion. Ozebagbe currently works as Technical Adviser at Ikorodu City, while Ortega serves as an assistant with the Flying Eagles.
Chelle has already updated the National Sports Commission on his plans, with the team expected to begin preparations in Abuja. The camp opens ahead of Olympic qualifiers in November 2026. Nigeria’s men’s and women’s Olympic football teams fall under the National Sports Commission, which has set its sights on qualification and a podium finish in Los Angeles.
