Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson believes the Argentine striker would be an ideal addition to the squad and could provide the cutting edge needed in attack under manager Xabi Alonso.

He noted that Chelsea are still lacking a striker with the ability to regularly reach or surpass the 20 goal mark, a quality he considers essential for any team with title ambitions.

While Atletico Madrid are said to be unwilling to strengthen Barcelona by selling the player to the Spanish giants, reports suggest they could be prepared to consider offers from other interested clubs.
