Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has marked a new milestone with his 2026 Grammy nomination for the hit song “With You,” featuring Omah Lay. In a lively video shared on Instagram, Davido showed his excitement by dancing and playfully singing along, underscoring his gratitude with the caption, “All Glory To God! Job Not Done.” His post quickly garnered widespread attention and congratulations from fans and fellow artists alike.
“With You” has earned a spot in the Best African Music Performance category at the upcoming 68th Grammy Awards, set for February 1, 2026, in Los Angeles. The competition in this category is fierce, including songs by Burna Boy, Wizkid and Ayra Starr, Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo, and South African artist Tyla.
This marks Davido’s second straight year of Grammy nods, following his 2025 recognition for the album “Timeless” and singles like “Unavailable” and “Feel.” While he did not win last year, these consistent nominations reflect his rising influence as a leading force in Nigeria’s music scene.
Burna Boy, also nominated this year alongside Davido, continues to set records with his seventh consecutive Grammy nomination, adding to his legacy with 13 total nods and a win for “Twice As Tall” in 2021.
The Grammy Awards this year celebrate music released between September 2024 and August 2025. The full range spans 95 categories, honoring artists across genres including pop, gospel, jazz, hip-hop, country, R&B, and global music styles. Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with nine nominations, followed by Lady Gaga and others.
Davido’s recognition speaks to not only his talent but also the global rise of African music on the world stage. His message is clear: while achievements like this nomination are a moment to reflect, the journey and work are far from complete.
