Augustine Eguavoen has been handed the interim role as head coach of the Super Falcons ahead of their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying campaign.
His first assignment will be the second-round playoff against Comoros in October. Eguavoen, who led the Super Eagles to a bronze medal at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations, brings a wealth of experience to the women’s team.
Joining him in the technical crew are Christopher Danjuma, head coach of Nasarawa Amazons, and former Super Falcons defender Ayisat Yusuf, who earned 68 caps and featured at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Veteran goalkeeper trainer Olatunji Baruwa also forms part of the bench.
The 10-time African champions will face Comoros, who crushed Sudan 30-0 on aggregate to reach this stage. Both legs of the tie will be played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo on October 9 and 13.
