Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has earned admiration from fans after publicly celebrating her former husband on Father’s Day with warm words and heartfelt prayers.
Marking the special occasion on social media, the actress shared photos of her ex husband alongside their son, expressing appreciation for his role as a father. She honoured him for his commitment and prayed for God’s continued grace and blessings upon his life and family.
She wrote, “Happy Father’s Day Daddy Tioluwanimi and every great father out there. We honour and celebrate you all today. May greater grace abound to you and yours in Jesus’ name.”
This is not the first time Biola has openly celebrated him despite the end of their marriage. Just a month earlier, she marked his birthday with prayers and assured him that she would continue to celebrate him always.
She had also done something similar during Father’s Day celebrations last year, offering prayers and reaffirming her appreciation for him as the father of their son.
Biola announced last year that she and her husband had gone their separate ways after ending their marriage in April. She explained that they had both chosen to peacefully and maturely co parent their child for his wellbeing.
Speaking about the difficult decision, the actress apologised to those who felt disappointed by the news, admitting that she had wished the marriage had succeeded. She, however, said remaining alive and emotionally healthy was more important than pretending everything was fine.
Biola also opened up about the emotional burden she carried during that period. According to her, while she spent her days making others happy, she privately cried herself to sleep for about 14 months.
After revealing the separation, she faced criticism and negative comments from some social media users. Responding to the backlash, the actress reminded critics that she is human and had only shared details of her marriage so no one else would control her story. Sadly, she said, that honesty was later used against her.
In 2023, Biola’s journey to motherhood finally ended in joy after she welcomed her first child in her forties. The actress had previously spoken openly about the painful road she travelled before becoming a mother, revealing that she experienced a failed IVF procedure, one cancelled surrogacy process, and three unsuccessful surrogate attempts within two years before she was eventually blessed with her son.
