Isaac Fayose has challenged the All Progressives Congress to allow a free and fair election in 2027, saying the party should have nothing to fear if it is confident of winning.
In a video shared on his Facebook page on Tuesday, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose claimed the APC could not win in three of Nigeria’s 10 states with the largest numbers of registered voters without rigging.
He named Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Rivers, Oyo, Delta, Benue, Ogun and Bauchi, and accused the ruling party of relying on federal power rather than strong grassroots support.
Fayose described the APC as a bully, arguing that its influence came from its access to the police, military and wealthy supporters, rather than public backing.
“If you are sure of yourselves, why not allow free and fair elections? Why stop us from campaigning?” he asked. “Let the process be free, fair and credible, and Nigerians will see who is truly strong and who is a bully.”
