Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has restated his administration’s strong resolve to promote livestock development as a major pillar for economic growth and sustainable development across the state.
The assurance was given during a weekend engagement in Yola when the state received the Minister of Livestock Development, Mukhtar Idi Maiha, who was on an official visit. Speaking on behalf of the governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Auwal Tukur, emphasized that the state remains fully aligned with Federal Government policies designed to strengthen and expand the livestock value chain.
He described livestock as a critical asset with the capacity to drive economic expansion, create jobs and improve the livelihoods of communities if properly managed and developed. According to him, the Fintiri administration is determined to ensure that the sector receives the attention it deserves as part of its broader development agenda.
In his remarks, the Minister explained that the visit was both a courtesy call and an opportunity to engage with livestock stakeholders across Adamawa. He said the consultations were necessary ahead of the planned implementation of the national ranching policy.
Maiha noted that the discussions would also allow the ministry to evaluate the condition and readiness of grazing reserves within the state. He identified Adamawa as one of the states with the largest grazing reserves in the country, adding that its vast livestock potential positions it as a major contributor to national growth if effectively harnessed.
The visit, as gathered by Zoyols Blog, reflects a shared commitment between the state and federal authorities to reposition the livestock sector as a viable engine for development and economic stability.
