Popular skit maker and filmmaker Folagade Banks has revealed what he believes is the biggest wedding scene ever filmed in a single Nollywood production, announcing that more than 600 cast members took part in a major sequence for his upcoming movie, A Mama Deola Wedding Story.
The entertainer, whose real name is Abiri Tobi Folagade, shared the exciting update on his Instagram page on Wednesday. Widely recognised for his popular comedy character, Mama Deola, he described the production as one of the biggest achievements of his career.
According to Folagade Banks, the elaborate wedding scene focuses on the marriage of the movie’s lead characters, Demilola and Femi. He disclosed that filming the sequence lasted for about 20 uninterrupted hours and involved hundreds of actors and extras working together to recreate the atmosphere of a grand Nigerian wedding.
Expressing his excitement, the filmmaker admitted that the scale of the production exceeded anything he had ever attempted, especially as a first time movie producer.
“I am so proud of myself. This is the biggest wedding scene you have ever seen in a movie. We created a whole wedding. We had over 600 cast on set yesterday and shot the scene for 20 hours straight. For a first time movie producer, I can’t believe I handled all of this. Thank you Lord,” he wrote.
Folagade Banks also described A Mama Deola Wedding Story as a landmark production, assuring movie lovers that it would offer a viewing experience unlike anything they have seen in Nollywood.
“A Mama Deola Wedding Story is a monumental movie. You won’t believe how amazing this movie is. Something like you have never seen before,” he added.
The highly anticipated film is directed by veteran actor and award winning filmmaker Femi Adebayo, whose reputation for delivering successful and critically acclaimed productions has further raised expectations ahead of the movie’s release.
One of the major highlights of the film is expected to be the lavish wedding ceremony between Demilola and Femi. The scene brings together an unusually large number of performers in an effort to capture the beauty, excitement, and cultural richness of a traditional Nigerian wedding celebration.
Folagade Banks also expressed appreciation to those who helped bring the ambitious project to life. He thanked Whitestone Place for providing a venue capable of accommodating such a massive production and praised Decors and Colors for creating the impressive wedding setting.

The movie features an impressive lineup of Nollywood stars, including Shaffy Bello, Toyin Abraham, Bukky Wright, Akin Lewis, Erica Nlewedim, Omowunmi Dada, Rotimi Salami, Mama Rainbow, and several other respected actors.
Industry watchers believe the production reflects the growing ambition within Nollywood, as filmmakers continue investing in larger productions, bigger casts, and more elaborate storytelling aimed at raising the quality of Nigerian cinema and expanding its global appeal.
Although the producers are yet to announce an official release date, excitement continues to build among fans of the Mama Deola brand, many of whom have followed Folagade Banks from his viral comedy skits to his latest journey into feature filmmaking.
