Fubara: Why I’m Choosing Peace Over Power

Zoyols Blog
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has revealed that his calm and composed stance amidst the recent political turmoil in the state was a deliberate choice, driven by a desire for peace. Speaking at a ceremony where he received the Man of the Year 2025 award from New Telegraph, Fubara explained that he opted to appear weak in the interest of protecting the state and the nation.
“I chose to be weak because I want peace. I need to protect those things that are dear not just to me but to our dear nation,” he said, acknowledging the pain endured by his supporters. Fubara urged them to remain steadfast, assuring that his perceived weakness is a virtue that will yield results at the right time.
“Continue to believe in what you believe in. Weakness is a virtue. It pays at the right time,” he added, expressing gratitude for their loyalty. The governor’s award was presented by veteran journalist and former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba, alongside other dignitaries.
