Nollywood star Funke Akindele has showered praises on veteran actress Patience Ozokwo as she marked her birthday.
In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Funke posted a clip of the screen legend from the set of her upcoming film Everybody Loves Jenifa. She expressed gratitude for the veteran’s motherly support, wisdom, and discipline during the project, while also commending her for the countless lives she has touched both on and off screen.
Calling her a “true legend” and “a blessing to the industry,” Funke prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the 67-year-old actress, wishing her joy, good health, and long life. “Happy Birthday, Mummy @patienceozokwo. Thank you for your motherly support throughout Everybody Loves Jenifa, for your wisdom and discipline, and for the many lives you’ve touched through your craft and your heart. You are a true legend and a blessing to our industry,” she wrote.
Patience, fondly known as Mama G, responded warmly in the comment section, appreciating Funke’s words and saying, “Thank you, my dear, and amen to your prayers.”
Earlier on Sunday, the actress celebrated her own birthday with a new photo on Instagram, saying she no longer counts the years but instead chooses to count her blessings.
Over the years, Patience Ozokwo has earned respect as one of Nollywood’s most enduring figures. Just last year, comedian Basketmouth recounted how deeply moved he was by her support when she agreed to feature in his movie, describing it as one of the greatest gestures he had ever received.
The screen icon has also reflected on her remarkable journey in the industry, which spans more than four decades. In 2023, she penned an emotional note to her children after receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award, acknowledging their sacrifices while she dedicated herself to her career.
