The tech company said AI tools are becoming useful companions for Gen Z and millennial singles who want to build meaningful relationships while keeping costs low and reducing some of the pressure that comes with modern dating.
According to Google, tools such as Gemini, Google Search and Google Maps are helping users plan affordable outings, communicate more confidently and make better decisions around relationships without unnecessary stress.
One of the biggest ways AI is proving useful, the company noted, is in helping singles discover budget friendly date spots. Through Google Search and Maps, users can easily find affordable cafés, parks, art galleries and recreational centres that suit both their interests and their pockets.
Google added that AI can also help users come up with creative date ideas, suggest activities based on shared interests and even recommend outfit combinations using clothes they already own, making it easier to plan without spending beyond their means.
Beyond date planning, the company said AI is also becoming a useful communication aid. It can help users generate conversation starters, organise their thoughts before difficult or important discussions and draft more thoughtful replies to messages.
Google said many young Nigerians are looking for smarter ways to navigate everyday life, and that now extends to how they build and manage relationships. According to the company, AI can reduce some of the stress around planning, communication and decision making, leaving people with more room to focus on genuine connection.
The company also described AI as a helpful brainstorming partner for first dates, sensitive conversations and moments when users need help expressing themselves more clearly.
Still, Google stressed that technology should remain a support tool rather than a substitute for real human connection. It said the foundation of every lasting relationship remains trust, empathy, authenticity and emotional intelligence, qualities that technology cannot replace.
While AI may make dating easier, cheaper and more organised, Google maintained that strong relationships will always depend on honesty, understanding and genuine emotional connection between people.
