Gov. Otti Funds Medical Treatment for Actress Ngozi Nwosu

Zoyols News

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has officially stepped in to support veteran Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu, approving the initial phase of funding for her urgent medical treatment. This development follows a heartfelt public appeal from the 62-year-old screen icon, who recently revealed she is facing a critical health battle requiring three separate surgeries.

The actress, who is a proud daughter of Abia State, had earlier shared that she requires approximately ₦30 million to cover the extensive costs associated with her procedures. The state government’s decision to intervene serves as a vital lifeline at a time when the actress is navigating these severe health challenges.

The news of the approval was shared by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Okey Justice. He highlighted the Governor’s swift response as a timely measure to ensure the legendary performer receives the care she needs.

While expressing deep appreciation for the Governor’s commitment, the aide clarified that the current approval covers only a portion of the total expenses. Consequently, he has issued a fresh call for public support, urging well-meaning Nigerians to continue contributing so that the remaining surgeries can be successfully funded.

The gesture has resonated deeply within the creative sector. Representatives from the industry have lauded Governor Otti for his show of solidarity, noting that such backing for a veteran performer provides much-needed relief to both the actress and the broader community of entertainers.
