The political landscape of the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in Ondo State is buzzing with new energy as various community groups and stakeholders intensify their calls for Prince Kenny Adekanmi to enter the race for the National Assembly. Over the weekend, representatives from several communities across the Ondo South Senatorial District gathered to formally urge the influential leader to represent the constituency in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

The momentum behind this movement grew significantly following a recent live radio program where Adekanmi addressed the swirling speculations. During the broadcast, he confirmed that he has been under consistent pressure from diverse groups who believe his leadership is what the federal constituency needs at this time.  Adekanmi acknowledged the widespread reach of these calls, noting that the outreach has come from nearly every corner of the local government areas involved.

Speaking on the development from Osogbo, Prince Adekanmi expressed his gratitude for the trust the people have placed in him. He admitted that the persistent requests for him to run are hard to ignore, and he has officially begun a series of high-level consultations with key stakeholders. While the excitement among his supporters is palpable, he emphasized that he is not in a rush to make a declaration, as such a significant decision requires careful thought and a clear vision for the people he intends to serve.

Political analysts are already closely watching these developments, noting that Adekanmi’s potential entry into the race could serve as a major turning point for Ondo South. Many observers believe his candidacy would not only reshuffle the current political deck but also introduce a fresh dynamic to the contest for the House of Representatives seat. His reputation for community engagement and professional standing makes him a formidable figure in the eyes of many residents who are eager for impactful representation.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, the pressure on Adekanmi continues to mount. For now, the Prince has assured his supporters and the general public that his final decision will be communicated soon, once he has concluded his ongoing consultations. Until then, the people of Okitipupa and Irele remain on high alert, waiting to see if one of their most discussed figures will officially join the battle for the green chamber.
