Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has added yet another milestone to her growing list of global achievements, confirming that she is now a three-time Guinness World Record holder.
The chef shared the news on Tuesday, revealing that her widely celebrated September 2025 feat earned her more than one title. What was initially recognised as the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice has now also been certified as the largest serving of rice ever recorded, pushing her record count to three.
Hilda broke the news on Instagram, updating her profile to reflect the latest achievement and expressing disbelief at the unexpected recognition. She described waking up to the confirmation as both shocking and exciting, calling it a powerful way to step into 2026.
According to her, the confirmation came through an official email from the Guinness World Records team, explaining that while reviewing the guidelines for different categories, it became clear that her jollof rice attempt met the requirements for another global record. The message congratulated her on securing the additional title, noting that both records were achieved during the same cookout.
Reflecting on the moment, Hilda said she had been casually checking her emails when she stumbled on the message, months after the initial record announcement. She admitted she never imagined that what she believed was a single win had quietly turned into two records in one day.
She explained that when she and her team prepared the massive pot of jollof rice, they were fully focused on breaking the Nigerian-style category. It was only later that they realised the quantity also surpassed the global benchmark for rice servings in general. That discovery, combined with her earlier record, officially placed her among a small group of chefs with three Guinness World Records to their name.
The September 2025 cookout in Lagos saw Hilda prepare an astonishing 8,780 kilograms of jollof rice, the largest quantity ever made. That achievement followed her historic May 2023 cooking marathon, where she cooked continuously for over 93 hours, becoming the first Nigerian chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.
Hilda credited the success to teamwork, singling out her close collaborator, Oreoluwa Atinmo, as a key force behind the vision and execution of the project. She described their partnership as deeply aligned from start to finish, saying the shared journey made the achievement even more meaningful.
She also acknowledged her faith, describing the experience as a reminder that blessings can go beyond expectations. According to her, even when it feels like the full picture is clear, there can still be more waiting to unfold.
Hilda ended by thanking her team, supporters, and the Guinness World Records organisation for recognising the achievement. She described the moment as overwhelming and fulfilling, noting that every effort, long day, and shared sacrifice played a role.
With this latest recognition, Hilda Baci continues to cement her place as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished culinary figures, while showcasing the richness and scale of Nigerian cuisine on the global stage.
