Iran Embassy: US Strike Hit 68 Wedding Guests

Zoyols News

Iran’s embassy in Abuja has accused the United States of striking areas in southern Iran where dozens of civilians were attending a wedding, leaving many dead or wounded.

In a statement released over the weekend, the embassy condemned what it called repeated US military strikes on Iranian territory, pointing specifically to attacks carried out on August 30 and September 1. The September 1 strike, it said, hit Bandar Kuhestak in Sirik County at a time when a local wedding was underway.

According to the embassy, the gathering turned into a scene of loss when 68 people at the ceremony were killed or injured. It described the moment families had come together to celebrate a marriage only to be met with sudden grief and bloodshed.

The embassy argued that hitting ordinary people, including women and children, at a family event cannot be explained away as part of any security operation. It noted that the same kind of civilian harm had occurred earlier at Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab, where children were also affected.

The mission maintained that such incidents leave deep scars on families and communities and cannot be justified under claims of countering threats. Zoyols News will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as more information becomes available.
