Moniepoint and ALU Launch New Program for Digital Leaders

Zoyols News

Moniepoint has officially teamed up with the African Leadership University (ALU) School of Business to roll out a specialized executive education programme, marking a major step in the firm’s efforts to cultivate its next generation of leadership. As Nigeria’s financial sector faces rapid changes—fueled by digital breakthroughs and shifting customer demands—this initiative is aimed at ensuring the company’s management team is ready to steer long-term economic growth across the continent.

The programme is a 13-week journey crafted to bridge key gaps in management, communication, and decision-making. By blending in-person workshops, live virtual sessions, and self-directed study, the curriculum focuses on two main pillars: Strategic Management and Leadership, and Data-Driven Decision-Making. This effort is designed to equip tech leaders with the blend of human-centric leadership and analytical rigour needed to handle large-scale digital transformation.

Tosin Eniolorunda, the Group CEO of Moniepoint, believes that grooming talent internally is the key to global competitiveness. He emphasized that for Nigeria’s digital economy to truly thrive, the leaders driving it must be built deliberately within the local ecosystem. He noted that the ultimate success of their infrastructure depends on the managers who ensure that tools and services effectively reach small business owners from Kano to Onitsha.

For the company, which has seen significant growth by supporting millions of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, this investment in people is about more than just skills—it is about building a resilient foundation in an industry defined by constant disruption. Eniolorunda stressed that in a competitive landscape, focusing on human capital is a non-negotiable step for any organization aiming to scale responsibly.

The training itself is led by a veteran faculty from the ALU, including Dr. Olugbenga Victor Afolabi and Dr. Omowale Crenshaw, both of whom bring decades of experience in emerging markets, financial services, and economic development. By integrating these expert insights, Moniepoint aims to empower its managers to lead teams more effectively while keeping Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles at the heart of their daily operations.

As Moniepoint continues to push for greater financial inclusion, the message behind this collaboration is clear: to serve underserved businesses and communities effectively, a company must first invest deeply in the leaders who serve them. This programme represents a commitment to sustaining impact at scale by fostering a culture where evidence-based decisions and strong leadership go hand in hand.
