Nollywood actress Motilola has opened up about how her senior colleague, Femi Adebayo, helped resolve a painful conflict between her and her boss, Kunle Afod. In a recent interview, she described the dispute as deeply hurtful, noting that it had even pushed her to air grievances on social media.
According to Motilola, Femi Adebayo stepped in at a critical moment, guiding them toward reconciliation. She revealed that external influences had worsened the situation, with some people feeding misinformation to escalate the tension. “The major conflict I had with someone I respect a lot was really painful. It got to the point where I had to go on social media to call names, and that was hard for me,” she said.
Motilola continued, praising Femi Adebayo for his calm and principled approach. “Shout-out to Femi Adebayo for helping us put things in order. He is a peaceful, good person who doesn’t like wahala. Issues between me and my boss, Kunle Afod, have been resolved. God has helped us to settle things,” she added.
This reconciliation comes after a tumultuous period in Motilola’s career. In 2024, she made headlines for calling out Kunle Afod and his wife, Desola, for allegedly sabotaging her professionally. She accused Desola of spreading false allegations about her on social media, which she denied, and pleaded for the defamation to stop. Motilola also shared that attempts had been made to shake her spiritually, emotionally, and physically, but she credited her resilience and faith for helping her endure the storm.
Motilola’s personal life has also been under scrutiny. She announced her divorce from her air force husband, Mr. Adekunle, in 2021, emphasizing that the split was amicable and free from anger or violence. She highlighted their continued commitment to co-parenting their two children.
Rumors had linked the breakdown of her marriage to an alleged affair with Kunle Afod, claims that surfaced after Kunle’s wife reportedly discovered the relationship. Motilola has addressed these speculations openly, explaining in an interview with Biola that she preemptively disclosed her divorce to prevent being blackmailed by bloggers. She criticized those who shame women over failed marriages, stressing that no one enters a marriage intending to leave.
Through it all, Motilola remains grateful for the support and guidance of people like Femi Adebayo, who helped restore peace and allowed her to move forward with dignity.
