According to Umaru, Gombe lamented that the ongoing crisis has attracted serious threats to both him and his family. The situation has become so dire that Gombe reportedly finds it difficult to even join congregational prayers in public, citing a genuine fear for his life as the 2027 political cycle approaches.

He claimed that the grand promises made to him at the peak of the leadership struggle remain unfulfilled. Specifically, he alleged that Hon. He also noted that beyond minor financial assistance for legal fees, no meaningful political compensation ever materialized.
In a bid to find peace, Gombe has expressed a strong desire to withdraw from the ongoing legal battles that have polarized the party. He admitted that his involvement contributed to the complex leadership struggle involving figures like David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola.
