The minister pointed to the notable presence of multiple Consuls General at the meeting as a clear signal of the strategic importance both countries place on their bilateral ties. He expressed optimism that ongoing collaboration would continue to grow, delivering tangible benefits and strengthening institutional links, especially between their respective ministries.

Central to the discussions were areas of shared interest such as border security, managing irregular migration, and enhancing crisis response systems. Tunji-Ojo acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s advanced technological frameworks along its borders and expressed Nigeria’s intent to learn from these systems through structured exchanges and delegation visits.

The development of a National Internal Emergency Response System was also highlighted as a top priority. The minister emphasized the opportunity to leverage Saudi expertise in innovation, public safety, and coordinated emergency management to enhance Nigeria’s internal security infrastructure.

Ambassador Al Barnawi reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering deeper cooperation across critical sectors. He highlighted his country’s proficiency in traffic management, civil defence, correctional services, and crowd control during major religious events such as Hajj and Ramadan. The ambassador also noted advances in digital security and citizen engagement platforms that allow for real-time reporting and responsive public safety measures.

Both Nigeria and Saudi Arabia expressed readiness to explore practical avenues for collaboration, boost institutional capacities, and maintain an ongoing dialogue focused on promoting security, stability, and shared prosperity
