The Osun State Police Command has declared five individuals wanted over their alleged involvement in the recent wave of violence linked to the political crisis across the state.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, who said security operatives are intensifying efforts to track down those suspected of playing roles in incidents that resulted in the loss of lives and destruction of property.

The suspects identified by the police are Dauda Olamilekan, popularly known as Emir, Taoreed, also called Small Rugged, Adetunji Kamoru Olatunde, Saka Afees, widely known as Terror, and Adeyemi Saheed.

The command appealed to members of the public to support ongoing investigations by providing useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects. Residents with credible details about their whereabouts were urged to report to the nearest police station or other appropriate security authorities.

The police also encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and continue reporting suspicious activities, stressing that public cooperation remains vital in tackling crime and restoring peace across the state.

Political tension has remained high in several parts of Osun State since June, with a series of violent incidents claiming lives and causing widespread concern among residents.

Among those who reportedly lost their lives during the unrest are teenager Olapade Ezekiel in Ilobu, Comrade Abdullateef Olamilekan, 70 year old Kazeem Akande in Osogbo, Ajayi Aderogba in Esa Oke and another victim identified as Eluyera in Ikire.

Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Osun State Police Command assured residents that every effort is being made to restore law and order while ensuring that anyone found to be connected with the violence is brought before the law.
