Pak PM: Iran and US Allies Agree to an Immediate Ceasefire

Zoyols News

In a historic turn of events for global diplomacy, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed that Iran, the United States, and their respective allies have reached a breakthrough agreement for an immediate ceasefire. This sweeping de-escalation covers multiple volatile regions, most notably Lebanon, and is set to take effect without delay.

Taking to his official X account on Wednesday, Sharif characterized the move as a monumental stride toward reclaiming regional stability. He expressed a sense of profound relief and humility in being able to share the news, noting that the agreement spans all active conflict zones where these powers and their partners have been engaged.

The Prime Minister did not hold back in his praise for the leaders in Washington and Tehran. He described the decision to lay down arms as both wise and constructive, thanking the leadership of both nations for choosing a path of sagacity over continued hostility. According to Sharif, this development reflects a newfound level of understanding and a shared commitment to the broader cause of peace.

To build on this fragile momentum, Pakistan is now stepping into the role of mediator. Sharif has formally invited representatives from all involved parties to convene in Islamabad for high-stakes negotiations. Dubbed the “Islamabad Talks,” these sessions are scheduled to begin this Friday, April 10, 2026. The goal is to move beyond a simple halt in fighting and work toward a more permanent, sustainable resolution to the disputes that have fueled recent tensions.

Reports  indicate that there is a palpable sense of optimism surrounding these upcoming discussions. Sharif noted that both sides have remained constructively engaged throughout the preliminary stages, and he hinted that further positive news could be on the horizon.

As the Middle East grapples with the fallout of recent hostilities, this ceasefire is expected to provide a much-needed window for humanitarian efforts and diplomatic maneuvering. The world now watches the Pakistani capital, hoping that the dialogue starting this Friday can turn a temporary pause in violence into a lasting era of calm.
